Aversion® Hydrocodone Bitartrate / Acetaminophen Tablets

Aversion® hydrocodone bitartrate/acetaminophen tablets are immediate release opioid analgesic tablets with a proposed indication for relief of moderate-to-severe pain and is designed to introduce limits and impediments to potential abuse via nasal snorting of crushed tablets and intravenous injection of dissolved tablets.

Status

King Pharmaceuticals Research and Development, Inc. (a subsidiary of Pfizer, Inc.), our development and commercialization partner licensed Aversion® hydrocodone bitartrate/acetaminophen tablets in December 2008.

Development Program

Ongoing development, manufacture and commercialization of Aversion® hydrocodone bitartrate/acetaminophen tablets is the responsibility of Pfizer. Enrollment in an pharmacokinetic and bioequivalence study of Aversion® hydrocodone bitartrate/acetaminophen tablets has been completed. This Pfizer study was an open label, single dose, randomized, two-period, two-way crossover study comparing the Aversion® product to Norco® Tablets in 47 healthy adult subjects.
